Expanding the 'Education Robot → Drone' business...
ALUX Recruiting Bi-Robot Founder
ALUX expands its drone business in earnest... Recruiting a top expert in the drone industry, Ji Sang-ki, former CEO of ViRobot, plans to grow into a company specializing in robotics technology by expanding its scope to the industrial market as well as educational drones.
Director Ji Sang-ki will focus on product technology development and contribute to the robot and drone industry.
ALUX, a coding robot-based edutech company, announced on the 19th that it had appointed Ji Sang-ki, former CEO of BYROBOT, as director of the drone division to expand the drone business and advance its technology.
The new director Ji Sang-ki is a robotics engineering expert who graduated from Hongik University's Department of Mechanical Engineering and completed his master's degree in mechanical engineering. He has worked as a researcher in the flying robot team at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology since 2005, and established BYROBOT in 2011 to expand the domestic pure technology-based toy flying robot and drone market.
BYROBOT, led by Director Ji Sang-ki, was the only company in the coding robot industry to develop and produce domestic drones. It swept major awards, including the Prime Minister's Award at the 2016 Multimedia Technology Awards and the Gold Award in the Robotic Toy category at the 2017 European Product Design Awards.
ALUX's goal is to take its independent drone and robot technology to the next level through the addition of a ground director and securing a lineup that encompasses both land and ground. In particular, ALUX hopes to internalize wireless communication algorithms, robot control, and sensor filtering technologies, qualities that are essential for drones.
In addition, ALUX plans to speed up the development of convergence technology for the integration of robots with various content, such as survival battle drones, coding drones, and leisure sports drones, rather than just simple flying robots.
Director Ji Sang-ki said, “We will expand the base of the drone industry by adding the technology and know-how I have accumulated to the infrastructure and network that ALUX has."
He added, “We will open a new chapter in the robot and drone industry by focusing on product technology development.”
Lee Da-in, CEO of ALUX, said, "We have joined forces with the finest expert who will strengthen our drone capabilities. We will not spare any investment in human and material resources and research support to solidify our position as the industry's best robot technology company."
