ALUX successfully hosts elementary school student cub competition
The '17th Jjang Saem Cube Class Student Cube Contest ("Cube Contest")', co-hosted by ALUX (CEO Lee Chi-heon and Lee Da-in), an edutech company, and the Korea Cube Association, was successfully held at the Incheon campus of Kyungin National University of Education on the 21st.

Following the 16th competition held in Seoul last July, about 420 elementary school students from all over the country participated in this speed-cube skills competition in two categories: 333 Cube and Pyraminx Cube.
The 333 Cube is a cube with six faces, and the Pyraminx is a tetrahedral cube with four triangular faces. Each side of the cube is painted in a different color, and the process of mixing the colors by turning the cube blocks around is called scrambling. A speed-cube competition measures the time it takes to match blocks so that each side of a scrambled cube is of one color.
Participants compete for their skills by measuring the record 5 times for each event, then subtracting the highest and lowest records and calculating the average of the remaining records. A participant of 333 Cube is disqualified after 3 minutes, and a participant of Pyraminx Cube is disqualified after 2 minutes.
On this day, other cube-related experiences and events were held at the competition as well. Along with the exhibition of various cube teaching materials, hands-on experience events such as cube mosaic and roulette games were held, and the scene was even more heated with an autograph session by Korea's representative cube player.

A parent who visited the stadium with a participating student said, “I was impressed to see my child seriously studying cube solutions and practicing from time to time in preparation for the competition.
“Regardless of the results, I saw my child’s willingness to solve problems on his own through this game. I’m glad his desire to learn and achieve has grown,” he said.
The competition proceeded in the following order:
△Opening speech,
△Congratulatory speech,
△Grade competition, and
△Awards and closing ceremony. At the awards ceremony, △1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, △Award of Excellence (4th~8th place), and
△Encouragement Awards were awarded to the top performers in each event by grade.
Ji Ye-chan, a student from Baegotraon Elementary School who won the 333 Cube category, said, “This was my first cube competition, so I participated with the mindset of having fun rather than aiming to win.
“I am even more happy that I got good results as I practiced," he said.
President Jang Jun-ho of the Korea Cube Association, which has organized cube competitions since 2012, said while preparing for this competition in its 17th anniversary, “I sensed that parents’ interest in and demand for cube education is growing. We plan to expand cube education in classes and various educational settings, while also developing content for differentiated education and expanding instructor training.”
Meanwhile, ALUX provides all-in-one functions ranging from content for instructors, such as teaching know-how and recruitment information, to application for various competitions and purchase of experience products and teaching materials through Tomorrow's Teacher, a comprehensive platform for education workers. 'Banggwa-Banggwa,' an after school management program is also being developed and operated.
